As County Administrator I serve as the Chief Administrative Officer through an appointment by the Board of County Commissioners. In this position, I am responsible for the supervision of the operations of County Administration, Fire Services, Facility Maintenance, Community Services, Planning & Development, and Public Works. In addition to these duties, it is my duty to carry out the policies and directives of the Board of County Commissioners and manage the annual operating budget. Mr. Arnold was appointed as the County Administrator on January 9, 2006. From July 2006 to May 2007, he was mobilized to serve the U.S. Navy in Afghanistan. Mr. Arnold has been in local government service for over 10 years and prior to that over 10 years with his family businesses. His previous government experience includes serving as Director of Utilities and Solid Waste Management and then County Manager in Lowndes County, Georgia for 6.5 years and County Administrator in Whitfield County for 4.5 years.

Mr. Arnold’s education includes a BS Degree in Physics from The Military College of South Carolina (The Citadel) and received a Master of Public Administration Degree from Valdosta State University. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and moved to Bushnell shortly after his appointment. He and his wife Michelle have four children: Nathan, James, Ashley, and Amber.
