Risk Management is a department in County Administration that provides and administers insurance coverage and loss control for County Government.

Key Objectives & Priorities
  • To provide efficient, fiscally responsible administration of the Board's Workers Compensation, Fleet, Property, Inland Marine, and Liability insurance programs.
  • To obtain and administer a comprehensive insurance coverage program in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • To promote and teach loss control for the purpose of providing a safe work environment for employees and safe premises for Sumter County citizens.
  • To provide coordination and administration of the partially self-insured Group Health Plan for the employees of the Board, Clerk of Circuit Court, Property Appraiser, Sheriff, Supervisor of Elections, and Tax Collector in an efficient manner providing employees with a good, comprehensive health plan with minimal cost to the taxpayer.
  • To assist employees who have insurance questions or claim problems.

 

Mission Statement
To provide professional administration of the County's insurance program through comprehensive insurance management, loss control and prevention. In addition, our department strives to provide the highest level of employee benefits within the financial constraints of available funding and to properly administer and coordinate those benefits.
