Facilities Maintenance Mission is to uphold our responsibility to protect Sumter County’s assets by performing preventive as well as scheduled maintenance and applying strategic resource management practices to minimize costs while providing a safe, healthful environment for County employees and citizens.

Sumter County Facilities Maintenance Department is responsible for the maintenance and security of approximately 122 buildings and structures. We maintain courthouses, fire stations, community centers, animal control, as well as office buildings, rentals, leases and warehouses. We are also responsible for select maintenance of the detention facilities and jail.
Facilities Maintenance’s 8 employees provide HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, routine preventative maintenance inspections, as well as maintaining irrigation and site lighting to County maintained buildings and properties as a service to the citizens and employees of Sumter County.
Designated projects are accomplished through contracted services we manage while the remainder is accomplished by our own maintenance staff. These contracts include Janitorial Services, Pest Control, Mowing & Landscape Services, Professional Moving Company, Carpet and Tile Contractor, Roofing Contractor, Electrical, Painting, Pressure Washing, Window Washing, HVAC Maintenance, Fire Alarm Monitoring, Fire Sprinkler Testing and Certification, Fire Extinguisher Certification and Maintenance, Septic, Irrigation, and Plumbing.
