Sumter County has been awarded Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers by the Federal Government to assist extremely low and very-low income renters with their monthly rent payment. Currently we administer approximately $40,000 each month in rent payments to local landlords. There are Federal Guidelines which are strictly adhered to.
