| It is the policy of the Sumter County Probation
Bureau to accept transfer cases from other counties
within the State of Florida. Six months minimum
is required, however, we will make every effort
to accommodate our fellow probation officers needs
as well as the needs of the individual. We accept
supervised probation as well as Pre-Trial Intervention
Contracts.
No case transferred, either in or out, will
be set up for Written Monthly Reports. All cases
will be returned to the originating county thirty
days prior to the expiration of the probation
term. All special and standard conditions will
be followed according to standard operating
procedures of the department.
Sumter County policy requires a violation of
probation:
- If the individual gets a new charge of a
second-degree misdemeanor or higher. No violation
for civil infractions, however, strong warnings
are recommended;
- If the individual tests positive for alcohol
or controlled substance. A test for controlled
substance, taken within the first thirty days
of probation, will be viewed as benchmark.
All tests outside of thirty days will be automatic
violations if positive.
