Overview
The Road and Bridge Department consists of a highly motivated and professional staff that is committed to maintaining the infrastructure within the County rights of way, and providing quality services to the citizens of Sumter County.

A variety of operations are performed by staff and contract services to maintain the desired level of service on the County system of connected roads and rights of way. These operations include:

  • planning
  • design
  • construction
  • maintenance

Hours
Monday – Friday
7:00 am – 4:30 pm

Responsibilities
The Road and Bridge Department is responsible for:

  • Construction, resurfacing, and striping of County maintained roads
  • Rights of way maintenance
  • County-maintained roads
  • Driveway, pothole, and sinkhole / depression repairs
  • Culvert installation
  • Fabrication of new roadway signs as well as repairing and replacing old or damaged roadway signs
