To foster accountability and responsibility first to self, then to the court, and ultimately to the community, in an effort to effect total life skills changes so that the individual is not likely again to engage in a criminal course of conduct.

This will be effected through a cognitive-behavioral approach to the case management and supervision of each individual.


The Department also handles:

• Court ordered misdemeanor probation supervision for adult and limited juvenile traffic cases 
• Supervision of pre-trial intervention contracts established by the State Attorneys Office 
• Provision of referrals for all misdemeanor court sanctions
• Foster positive relations between Sumter County and surrounding communities relative to judicial services, clients, treatment providers, and law enforcement
