| Sumter County Board of County Commissioners is proud to be designated as the Community Transportation Coordinator for Sumter County. What this means to you as a resident is the assurance of quality, safety, and courtesy in your transportation needs.
Sumter County Transit offers door-to-door service and deviated shuttle routes. The Transit fleet is able to accommodate wheelchairs, children requiring a car seat, and service animals. Read more about the services in the Passenger Guide or in the Transportation Disadvantaged Service Plan.
The program is set up on a priority trip basis; first medical, then employment, education/training, nutrition followed by all other trips. It is recommended you make a reservation at least 3 days in advance of your appointment due to driver/vehicle availability.
Transit services are provided under contract by Ride Right, LLC, a private transportation provider.
