The responsibilities of the Transit Department include:
  • Providing safe, clean, and efficient transportation to the residents of Sumter County
  • Transportation services for Sumter County Youth Center and Senior Services of the County
  • Vehicle Maintenance
  • Taking transportation reservations
  • Dispatching

Mission
To ensure all citizens of Sumter County professional, efficient, and cost-effective transportation services. Sumter County will provide safe, clean,  comfortable, and economical transportation; and be alert to citizen needs and prepare for those needs in a timely manner.
