Veteran Services
Responsibilities
The responsibility of the Veteran Services Department is to provide high-quality, professional guidance and assistance to Sumter County veterans and their dependents in obtaining their rightful entitlements from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as well as other Federal and State agencies.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Assisting with VA health care enrollments
  • Assisting with Department of Defense pay issues
  • Providing guidance and assistance in filing VA disability claims
  • Providing guidance and assistance in filing appeals with VA decisions
  • Providing guidance and assistance on all death-related benefits
