The following is a list of permit types available in Sumter County. Clicking on the permit type will show the submission requirements of that permit. Please note that prior to issuance of any building permit, a permit or letter of clearance is required from Environmental Health.

Submission Requirements for Conventional Construction

Site Plan
Two sets of building plans (Engineer sealed or 10-97 Wind load calculations)
State energy code w/ Manual J (if central heat/air system)
Septic tank permit
Copy of recorded deed
Driveway permit, if applicable
Flood Zone Acknowledgement, if applicable

Submission requirements for Mobile Home

Site Plan
Blocking Diagram
Septic tank permit
Copy of recorded deed
Driveway permit, if applicable
Pre-inspection form, if applicable
Document showing size & age of mobile home (copy of title or purchase
agreement) Maximum of three years of age if being located in the City of
Bushnell.

*There are three different situations in which a notarized letter/affidavit is required:
1. A notarized letter from the property owner is required if the mobile home is in a different name.
2. A notarized letter from the Mobile Home Installer is required if the property owner is pulling the permit under the installer's name.
3. A notarized letter is required if the Mobile Home Installer is doing the set-up, but the property owner is doing the electric, plumbing, or mechanical work.

Submission requirements for Accessory Building/Structure (Includes Pools)

Swimming pool permit applications require that the applicant complete and sign the "Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act" form.
