The Housing Department provides a full array of services for the residents of Sumter County. Some of the services provided include: Home Purchase Down Payment & Closing Cost Assistance for first time home buyers, Rental Payment Assistance to very low income residents, Emergency Home Repair Assistance, and Home Rehabilitation Assistance as State and Federal funds are available.

AFFORDABILITY
Assistance is provided to Extremely-Low, Very-Low Income, Low Income & Moderate Income Households based upon the most current income limits for Sumter County, as provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Adjustments for household size are considered in the calculation of income status. Household size adjustment factors required by statute are intended to provide higher income limits for larger households and lower income limits for smaller households.
