FORCE is Florida's organics recycling effort involving the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) , the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS), and Sumter County. The legislatively funded organization provides a framework to promote organics recycling and research in a statewide effort to streamline compost processing, research, demonstration, marketing and education in Florida.

As part of the FORCE project, Sumter County will oversee installation of an additional digester at the Solid Waste Facility in Lake Panasoffkee and will design a new research and demonstration laboratory and 40-acre demonstration farm site to be utilized by the University of Florida/IFAS.
