A transportation disadvantaged qualifying application is required to receive door-to-door services.

Shuttle Routes

In coordination with Sumter County Board of County Commissioners and the Florida Department of Transportation public transportation is provided by two shuttle routes. The shuttles provide transportation along designated routes and can deviate off the route a short distance (up to 3/4 mile) to pick up or drop off. Reservations are required for all deviations. A bus on a shuttle route can be flagged down anywhere on the route just by waving your hand. If you would like to be dropped off somewhere along the route, just let the driver know when you board.

Door-to-Door Shuttle Reservations

Reservations for door-to-door and shuttle deviations can be made by calling 352-568-6683 between 8 am - 1 pm, Monday through Friday. Please make your reservation at least 3 days in advance of your appointment due to driver/vehicle availability.

For appointments in Sumter County for medical, employment, education, and shopping, those appointment times must be between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

How the Shuttles Work

A shuttle route travels from bus stop to bus stop. The shuttle can deviate off the route a short distance (3/4 of a mile) to pickup or drop off. Reservations and an application are required for all deviations. If you would like to be dropped off somewhere along the route, just let the driver know when you board. Sumter County Transit runs two shuttle routes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
