Lake Miona Park is a great place for boating and fishing. The park is located at 10501 CR 115 (off CR 472E) in Oxford and features a new access dock, boat ramp, grills, pet station, picnic tables, pavilions, playground, restrooms, horseshoe pit and 4.97 acres of pristine land with scattered oak trees.
In March, 2010 The Sumter County Parks and Recreation Department began working with Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission on the need for an access dock at Lake Miona Park. That led to the construction of the access dock that was completed on April 23, 2010. The Sumter County Road and Bridge Department constructed the paved ramp leading up to the access dock, for handicap accessibility to and from the access dock. All funding for the access dock was provided by Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and funding for the paved ramp was provided by the Road and Bridge Department.
