[ARCHIVED] NEW! Books by Mail and eReader Lending Services

The Sumter County Library System is proud to announce two new services available to the community.

Are you thinking of purchasing an eReader? Before you buy it – check out a Kindle™ device at your local library through the new eReader lending service. Each Kindle™ device will come pre-loaded with fiction and non-fiction titles plus a collection of classic titles. Reserve a device using the online catalog at www.SumterPublicLibrary.org or call your local library. When the device is available, just bring your library card and photo ID, and then sign the Electronic Device Borrowing Agreement. Library staff will provide a basic overview of the device kit upon checkout. For more detailed assistance, patrons can set up a Book a Librarian appointment.

The library is also proud to announce a free service available to homebound residents of Sumter County. “Books by Mail” offer homebound residents the convenience of having library materials delivered to their homes via the U.S.Postal Service. To obtain an application or for additional information, please contact the Books by Mail department at 352-689-4560.
